Formula for success.

Unless you’ve made your fortune already, are you one who wishes you had the formula for success and still looking for success? I’m talking about success in art and that each part of the journey towards success is really part of the success. Every little triumph is a step towards success, but what is success really? I would say it covers a multitude of criteria- money obviously being one of the main things, and selling the artwork, and increasing my client base for Blind Create. But it’s also a respect for the artwork and the value that the artwork gathers that follows.

However how does this happen? From 12 years ago a friend of mine (also called David) started my website using squarespace, and helped me to start building a future for my artwork. I then used that website to host a Scotland wide Space art competition. That was a success, but it has taken a decade and a new idea in Blind Create to kick start my website again. Some say this is how success tends to happen, in waves and kick starts again.

The irony is that my abstract paintings and drawings reflect what I have known about this topic, that when opportunities arise, they may seem different to what we expect but they are part of the matrix of the journey just the same as the matrix of the artwork that is being made. In other words the journey isn’t always what we anticipate, which is what many stories, movies and books are written about, because success is really what we make of those opportunities.

Is this your formula as well?
