Pirate - Captain Gumbeard

Pirate - Captain Gumbeard.

by Jemima.

Aaaaarrrhhhh!! Jemima painted Captian Gumbeard, with his parrot perched on his shoulder. Jemima had help from her dad, and they drew out the pirate using black pen.

We added quite a lot of features, such as the earrings and hook, belt and eye patch.

We also painted the background, with the sea, and ship decking very prominent, as well as the barrel. We had a barrel of laughs with David wearing a pirates hat and scarf, an a missing tooth.

We used a flat brush, and mixed particular colours to get the brown one his beard and trousers. We used orange for the decking which made the painting stand out as bright contrasting colour to the blue and red, and green of his clothes.

Example by David

David drew this pirate before the art session, so that Jemima could recognise the picture. David dressed up in pirate costume with a hat, striped jumper, scarf and not forgetting a toy parrot.
