This was completed after 2 sessions, after using several painting techniques and building up several layers of texture paint for the feathers with a fan brush.

The back ground is also really well painted, using a wide sponge for the branches and fan brush for the leaves.

Jemima, aged 15 assisted, using Zoom on the Monday 9th Aug 2021

Jemima really likes Owls and wanted to paint this one. She made a range of choices and followed David’s guidance each step of the way.

She used brush techniques using thick paint and sweeping and dabbing strokes for the background and body of the owl.

She printed marks with the fan brush to make the textures of the leaves and the feathers.

She then printed with different size of sponges to create the stunning eyes!

Here’s her painting below which she's very proud of. What a fabulous start!:
