How to prepare your art studio

How to prepare your art studio

  • Place your canvas or art board firmly firmly upright next to your palette and paints.

  • Place internet device on a large table with your paints so that you can easily use what you have.

  • Your device should be upright and opposite your artwork so that David can see your artwork.

  • Your camera and microphone work needs to work well on your device.

  • Place the paints (oil or acrylic) in this colour order by your palette:

    • Primary- yellow, red, blue

    • Secondary - green, orange, purple

    • Then tertiary colours - brown, pink etc.

    • Then black & white. (White is very important to have)

  • Have a good volume of paint eg at least 250 - 500ml or more of each colour.

  • Place the brushes in order from small to large. (if you’re able to - label them 1, 2, 3 etc so that you can recognise them)

  • 1 pot of water to clean brushes, and a paper or old cloth

  • A ruler and sponge if you have this- don’t worry if not.

  • A black and silver pen if you have this - don’t worry if not.

  • Good light in the room if possible, and a magnifier if required.

  • Please be somewhere where there is good internet signal.

  • Have any other resources at hand if you need them for accessibility such as hearing aids if you having hearing issues.

  • Feel free to have a drink and nibbles/food during the sessions.

  • You can have music on in the background if you wish, but please remember that the sessions do rely on you being able to hear my voice well enough.

Ideally your device needs to be pointing towards the canvas so that I can see what your painting and guide through mixing and applying the colour and paint.
