'Home' summertime sensory story telling

PAMIS had a wonderful day of multi-sensory storytelling at National Galleries of Scotland Modern One on Saturday.

Through story we celebrated the work of the artist Do Ho Suh's Tracing Time exhibition, where he explores the theme of home. Artist Helen Johnston from the PAMIS online art group, led by David Grigor who facilitates the class and supported by her staff team also explored Do Ho Suh's theme through her own art and over three weeks Helen created an installation symbolic of her own representation of what is important to her about home. Wow Helen! This fantastic work was funded by Shared Care Scotland.

Summertime Sensory Storytelling (Profound disability-friendly)

An installation of ‘Home’ - using household food boxes - cereal and others. Cut and glued together to make a space.

Use of cling film, silver foil, oven paper, sand paper, lolly sticks, coloured corrugated card and coloured paper/card and crepe paper.

A minimalist interpretation that enables household materials to represent the fabrics and textures around us in our living space.

Installation of the theme ‘Home’ and her interpretation of ‘Tracing Time’.

Helen used a variety of materials for this, and made images of music al notes to symbolise her love of music, and a top to show her love of clothes.
